RIF Rodeo
This year the theme for our RIF (Reading Is Fundamental) is a RIF Rodeo. At our first distribution in January, the students were read the book, Click, Clack, Moo, Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin. Following the story, the student participated in a rodeo. Students were divided into two teams. Then each team member took a turn either riding or pulling a cow or horse across the library. Once on the other side of the library, they collected a letter of the alphabet. As the teams collected the alphabet, in order, they practiced their alphabetical skills. It was a fun week. Following this activity, students in first and third grades chose a RIF book to take home for their very own. If you want to see more pictures from our rodeo, look at the photographs section on the left had side of the screen.
Book Club Our fourth and fifth grade book club will be reading the book, Alvin Ho: Allergic to Girls, School, and Other Scary Things by Lenore Look. Students who elect to join the club need to sign up for the club. Books will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
